I had a few minutes before I had to be at work on Thursday so I stopped by my favorite Goodwill and what did I see on the shelf? Not one, not two, not even three but four Pyrex casserole dishes.

One was the Golden Acorn design and the other was the Golden Hearts design. I couldn't find the pics of the other two. The were beige with gold design too. I had to leave them because they wanted $10 a piece. They had no lids and I really couldn't see spending that much money on them all.
Today as if to add insult to injury, I walked into the Salvation Army and found a vegetable dish in this pattern:
And...it was only $2.64. But, I had to leave it. " (
Why did I leave it you ask. I already have 4 of those veggie dishes and to be quite honest they take up a lot of space. I really don't use them and I just have no room for it. I did walk around the store holding it in my hand. I was seriously sad when I had to put it back on the shelf.
I am sure that the thrifting gods will smile on me soon and I will find some Pyrex that I can take home. Cross your fingers for me.

UPDATE: I went back to the Goodwill to see if the heart Pyrex bowl was still there. It wasn't but two others were. I left them there. What willpower!
Oh yes, I know the feeling, absolutely and too well. Especially the feeling of "this is a Great Find" simultaneous with "but I have NO ROOM FOR IT".

I feel your pain. Unfortunately, I was not so strong as to resist this weekend, and they were not even as great of patterns as those!

ReplyDeleteAt those prices I would have left them behind too; but I would have bought the one from Sally Anne's despite not having room. I always buy stuff I have no room for. The condo seems like it's busting at the seams!

ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean! I saw a great Pyrex piece at a thrift store this week, but it was too much. They had it displayed with the lid on it, but wanted one price for the lid and one price for the dish. Crazy lol
