Rollin' On The River

Last weekend, the family loaded up the car and headed off to the river to go to Laughlin, Nevada. I decided that since we were going to be there for a few days that I was going to check out the local thrift scene. My husband being the sweetheart that he was, came home with a list of stores that he had Googled (or something like that) just for me. There weren't many on the list but I thought that I would still go and give them a try.

On Saturday, my son and I loaded up the car and headed over the river to the Arizona side and Bullhead City. Our first stop was The Salvation Army. It wasn't that big of a store. They had some nice glassware. They had a set of china that I considered buying but I was nervous about getting it home. I did find a Pyrex bowl.

$4.50
This is the Homestead pattern.

I also got a vase.

$2.50
I didn't really need a vase. I just love it. I have it on my bedside table. I hope my husband get the hint that it might look real pretty with some flowers in it. Wink Wink

After the Salvation Army, we went on a wild goose chase to find the rest of the places on my list. Two were closed on Saturdays. One no longer exsisted. And yet another that was actually open had most of their stuff outside and it was wet. Yuck! We finally found the Goodwill and a shopping we went.

We found a few treasures at this Goodwill. My son found several games. He found an electronic Monopoly and Uno game. He also found a magnectic travel chess game.
I found this star picture holder.

.99 cents
I can't wait to fill it with cute pictures like the one in the background. That is a picture of the boy that I took for my photography class back in the day. Isn't he cute? : )

I have a facination with small glass pitchers. I envision having a big pancake feast and having several filled with all kinds of delicious syrup. I know,  I am a tad touched.

$1.49
It looks like someone took a brandy snifter and crimped the lip. I love it!

The last thing that I bought was a charger for my mp3 player. My son spotted it and when we looked at it we decided that it was perfect. It had a digital photo keychain attached. An added bonus for sure!

We may go back to Laughlin later this year. I will definitely go and check these places out again.

I have a love of Pyrex dishes and so does Vonlipi over at Vonlipi's Favorites  . She is having a giveaway of a beautiful Pyrex dish.  Go over and leave a comment and/or become a follower to get an entry to win.
Check it out! Her blog is completely awesome!

  1. You're good at bargain shopping, Leslie! I think I have that star photo holder. I should look for it and put photos in it.

  2. Thanks Donna. My husband only sees it as bargain shopping when I buy a few things not the whole store. LOL I need to find time and start to fill mine too.
